From the Heart

Loved Leandra's Patchwork back ground technic on the Paperartsy website, so I though I would give it a whirl!!

I have never used colour tinting with grunge paste before, so started out with Pansy Fresco's. I started with a piece of cut and dry but felt more comfortable with the spatula

I added each colour and then did the texture as I was worried it would start to dry before I got to all of them, I did random patterns and also used stamps for some.

Finished square, took a while to dry even using the heat gun, so started on the embellishments.

I crackled 2 chipboard hearts and sanded to distress them. I stamped my design on tissue paper and turned the image around so fit my heart better.

Back to the main piece and washed the whole image with a watered down with French Roast and added some stitches, which when I have finished I didn't really like so used a baby wipe to "clean" to whole piece, this seems to give it a more aged look which happily I did like.

Finished by adding some treasure gold covered flowers and metal embellishments before making a stamped back and boarders with Kraft card, turning it into a wall hanging.

Here are the colours I used.

Christmas Wreath

Hello

Only 2 weeks to go eek!!!

I have so much to do starting to worry now as I have orders for cards which I haven't started yet so going to be busy next week!

At least today I have made my Christmas wreath, I started with a plain really cheap wreath.

And started using a poinsettia die from spellbinders which I had forgotten about and used some lovely vintage Christmas papers, red & green card to layer up the flower and added gold leaves.

I had wanted some plain pine cones but could only get red ones, so I used gold treasure gold to change the colour of them and was left with a pleasing red/gold effect .

I made some small red bows and a large gold bow from ribbon I bought from Ikea. I have bought loads of ribbon from Ikea as its cheap and you get lots on a reel.

Used hot glue (and burnt myself about 5 times) to stick it all altogether and here is the result.

Advent Christmas Tree

Hello again, thought I would share my Advent Christmas Tree, just finished making it today.

It's an MDF tree which I wanted to make into an advent calender, it's double sided.

I really enjoyed making this even though it's taken me ages to make and I was supposed to be sorting out my spare room...... oh well!!!

First I used Frescos nougat and the base and sprayed London Bus and Limelight over the top. I then built up layers using Christmas Stamps and stencils, Frescos and inks. I had a happy accident when I was using my new reverse chicken wire stencil as the paint run underneath, but I really liked the wider effect so left this as it was.

It was at this point I realised I didn't really have many numbers, I had a small die and some chipboard ones but not enough so I had to get creative with what I used.

I made some by covering card with ribbon and twine, thick cardboard and paints, tracing some on to card, using a stencil, gems, circles and punches, grunge paste & paints, white mini pom poms & paints and cutting freehand.

So I could show which date we are on I cut a Paperarsy die in half and glued a mini peg to the back to clip on to correct date. I Finished with a few metal embellishments.

Love the effect and its going to take center place on the fireplace.

Hope you like it and please leave a nice comment.

Thanks

Fundraising Craftyness

Hello

Over the last 3 weekends I have been trying to make as many cards as possible for my friend to sell at a school fair next week! Unfortunately her sister lost the battle to Cancer a few months ago, and she died at the age of just 43 and leaving 3 girls all under the stage of 15!!!

It's a tragic loss for all her family and friends and my friend Hannah is going to run the London Marathon next year in tribute to Sarah her sister who ran it a couple of years ago. The family are trying to raise as much money as they can both in sponsorship for Hannah and to give to cancer charities.

I managed to make 200 cards, mainly Christmas ones for them to sell and I am hoping they will raise a good amount of money. They are going to have other events so I will be continuing my effects over the few months to giver to this great cause.

It's something dear to my heart after 4 years ago I lost my beloved Mum and both Aunties within the space of one year, it was a very hard time but crafting has helped to ease the pain and it's helping me to support my friend through a very rough time!!

Christmas Batch Making

Time to enter another PaperArsty  challege - Jonne Wardle is back with her clean sense of crafting and its something I am really enjoying.

I don't have any PaperArsty Christmas stamps yet so used some from my stash with my Fresco paints, added a greeting stamp and some candy from Craftwork Cards.

I made 2 different lots and this really helped boost the amount of cards I have for my friend to sell to raise money for Christy's Hospital who looked after her sister. (Will blog about that later)

Anyhoo these are my cards

Hope you like them and please leave a nice comment.

New Dekromounts

Love these New Dekromounts Shapes, they are really strong so I decided to make a frame.

I took the 3 pieces in the set (you get 2 sets in a pack) to make up the frame.

First I painted the solid frame shape and a background for the stamp using a blend of Frescos.

Then I stamped new of my new Paperarsty stamps over the paint back ground, I love doing this with these stamps.

Taking the ornate side of the Dekromount I painted and then begin building layers with all my wonderful yummy new stencils and different colour Frescos.

Using the middle of the frame I made my supporting hinge. Just got the Paperarsty Hardware Die at Stampmagic so 2 of the hinges to go over and over the back support. Painted the whole of the back in Little Black Dress.

I finished with a couple of paper flowers, a metal key and some treasure gold around the edges. Love the results, they make fantastic small picture frames!!!

Thanks for looking, please add a nice comment.

Just a quick blog,

I have been spending a lot of time designing my own website over the last 3 months and I think finally I am happy with it.

I am going to be adding projects and new crafting goodies on a regular basis although still working full time at the moment to support myself so working lots of nights and weekends to process orders and update stocks. Please support me as I have big plans for the future of Craft With Redfish.

Have a browse of the store now, I am selling off Kanban Toppers and card stock to pave the way for new products (I desperately need the space) Also selling different crafty surfaces and the new Dekromounts which I love, a range of Christmas stocks, charms and embellishments.

Joanne Wardle Challenge

Joanne Wardle was back on the Paperartsy challenge so I had to have another go at clean & simple.

I loved the 2nd project so based my design on this - http://blog.paperartsy.co.uk/2013/10/joanne-wardle-project-2-grunge-leaf.html

I decided to try and use Autumn colours since it's that time of year.

First I stamped my image and then used grunge paste over the image

Then using nougat, blood red, pumpkin soup, very berry and my new round tipped brushes I painted the image. Stamped a script stamp and covered in ruby & Florentine treasure gold.

I love the results, freehand texture is fab, will try this again.

I would like to enter this into this weeks challenge over at Paperartsy.

Well I best be off to bed going to Stamp Magic at Donny tomorrow and then the wholesalers - busy day.

Simple

Another week at Paperartsy challenges and this week Joanne Wardle has been showing us clean & simple cards. I really struggle to make a clean "white" cards so I thought I would have a go.

I used a JOFY stamp and a new stamp from hobbycraft for the greeting.

Using Pansy, Beach Hut, and Nougat I coloured the flower and then added by stripe of paint, I also added a little glass stamp to finish it off.

At this point I had to walk away as I wanted to embellish and it needed to be 1 dimensional

Finished card

I am quite please with the results.

I hope you like the card and leave a nice comment.

My Blackboard

Hello, once again I should be doing something else buy I am here instead - on hols tomorrow so I am taking a sneaky time out to show you the card I made last Sunday for the Paperartsy blog challenge.

Darcy made a stunning floral blackboard piece which I loved and I have made my version.

First I die cut the "black board" and painted with little black dress Fresco paint a couple of times. I use 1 flower die I got with my Monday Madness Mystery box and some leaf dies coloured them using Frescos and stamped with a script stamp, I decided they were a bit bright so covered with a light silver paint.

I have been wanting to do a background with the treasure gold, so I used by brickwork and ledger Stencil with grunge paste, and mixed 3 colours together, I left the middle as this was covered up.

At this stage I couldn't find my chalk so used more grunge paste the an alphabet stencil instead, and made some paper chalk.

Finished card!

Fish Tank

Well I should be cleaning as we are away next week and my niece is housing sitting but I am here....

I loved the Paperartsy blog this week, and decided to use Leandra technic of mixing paints to make metallic ones. I won the new fishy minis last week so had to use those and I was also inspired by the blog from Suzz Czosek where see took a block of wood and turned it into this fab project

So here is my very quick attempt

I used a block of wood which has been in the bathroom for months now - no idea why - and made into into a fish tank.

I made a card base. Mixed my own brown paint as I don't have that fresco colour yet and painted a little cabinet. Making some cupboards and draws and using treasure gold to highlight.

I also punched circles into card for my on template to use with the grunge paste as again I don't own one of them yet either it worked well but can only be used once.

Using beach hut and a silver paint I made this lovely shimmy blue wash added a few "ferns" using my JOFY stamps.

If I had more time I would have made a lid as well but I like the result.

I would like to entry this into this weeks blog challenge over at

Now on with the cleaning Booooo!!

Dare to Dream

Morning, I have been inspired to create this card after watching Leandra at Paperartsy's new video. I have also mixed in Michelle Webb's white lines and I love the results with that.
I have gone darker and mixed a real blend of Fresco paints as the background, then

I used a piece of grey board and grudge paste through the harlequin mask and used a selection of small stamps to create the extra texture effect, over the top I used the blend of fresco paints again and silver embossing power, this was sanded back to reveal the pattern.

I stamped 2 Lynne Perrella stamps and coloured to match added a few embellishments and

Finished card

I would like to enter the card into http://blog.paperartsy.co.uk/ blog challenge for this week!

Mannequin Tag

Hello
I have had a great Sunday which has involved not leaving the house, sorting craft things and of course making a few things.
Hope you like:)

I started with a large white tag and die cut some Tim Holtz Tattered Florals flowers. I then stuck these down and using my ledger mask covered with grudge paste, dried and painted white.

I used a craft work cards pre cut mannequin and covered in with a script stamp and coloured with inks.

I used a wash of orange, pink and red paint to cover the tag and then sanded back. I stamped out a key and covered in gold flake. Then added a greeting, metal embellishment and some ribbon.

Finished project!

I hope you like this and will leave a nice comment.

Thanks
